“Belleville Stompers” is an acoustic jazz trio that offers a repertoire of Manouche music, genre that sees its origins in the Paris of the thirties: born from the fusion of overseas jazz sounds with traditional gypsy music, its progenitor is the guitarist Django Reinhardt. The musical proposal is therefore mainly composed of songs by Django, and by other contemporary Manouche artists who have continued the tradition, but also includes jazz standards not typically belonging to the repertoire, but performed in Gypsy Jazz style. Performing the songs with a focus on sound and style makes the performances suitable for experienced listeners of the genre; the presence in the lineup of standards, some of them with the vocal theme, make the fruition also suitable for less expert listeners, despite being the Manouche genre already very engaging by its nature.
